The Moment vocal grading system offers instrument understanding-based exams. ​

Other grading systems push students through exams with no regard for their vocal health and are often a little pretentious. 

Our grading system journeys with the singer in their understanding of vocal function and helps them understand their own learning progression. Our goal is to empower singers in their vocal ability and fitness to achieve their goals, track their progress and become proficient in their chosen craft.

For each grade that you sit, you are assessed on a technical aspect and one or more songs.

Upon the completion of your vocal exam, you receive a certificate outlining your accomplishment, a video of your exam, and your mark sheet, complete with notes about your performance.

Certificates are usually presented at a concert night, or if you are a part of the Island Bay Studio, at our gathering evening event. Graduates are featured on our website under success stories, with a photo and a blurb about themselves. Some opt to have just their first name and grade details for privacy.
